...LA ISLA DEL FUEGO...THE ISLAND OF FIRE MOUNTAINS...

Green valleys in the north, endless sandy beaches, volcanic landscape in the south and the unique vine-yards of La Geria are making Lanzarote the probably most varied canary island.

1974 the island was dedicated to "Reserva de la Biosfera" by UNESCO.

From lively tourist-centres to the almost uninhabited and arid national park Timanfaya you will find here almost everything.

The island is very poor in rain, the spartanic landscape formed by wind, ocean and-most important - by volcanic actions.

Thanks to artist and architect Cesar Manrique Lanzarote could preserve its character even with perfectly built touristic infrastructure. You will find his works all over the island.

You can find tourism and nightlife if you want - and you can find little villages where time seems to have passed - without changing anything.
